Early Career Researchers (ECR) Mobility
Second call

The MIRAI partnership is pleased to announce the Second Call for Mobility targeting Early Career Researchers (ECRs). This initiative supports academic exchange between Sweden and Japan, fostering collaboration and innovation across disciplines.

Key Dates:
Note: Swedish partner universities will manage their own application processes independently, but all will adhere to the same timeline.

  • Opening of calls: September 1, 2025 
  • Application deadline: October 31, 2025 
  • Results: End of November- Beginning of December 2025

General Application Requirements:
To be eligible for this mobility opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a current doctoral student or have earned a doctorate in 2021 or later
  • Commit to a minimum mobility period of 5 consecutive months
  • Remain employed by their home university throughout the exchange and continue receiving their full salary
  • Ensure that all mobility activities conclude by December 31, 2027, with return to the home country by this date
  • Take full responsibility for visa research and compliance for the destination country (guidance will be provided, but due diligence is required)
  • Conduct the mobility at one of the MIRAI partner universities
